Pontigny Mix

Video of the making of Pontigny Mix, part of the Nomade Land Exhibition at the Abbaye of Pontigny 2025, curators François Schneider Foundation, and Canal satellite/art contemporaine.

I used clays that I found locally in France and included a pink one from Dorset, UK, to ceate slips that were poured onto cloth. In front of this hanging textile, I placed 6 fired clay sculptures from the Queule series. I wished for the shapes, in the gestures and sculptures, to resonate with the arches of this wonderful 12th century building.
